Five Days Intensive Programme Overview

What You Can Expect

A one-week advocacy intensive designed for aspiring advocates from around the world.


Each student joins one cohort, spending five full training days immersed in advocacy, legal reasoning, and the evolving landscape of justice, developing the confidence and digital-readiness required of tomorrow’s advocates.

    Theme: Welcome & Orientation

    Informal arrival and networking; orientation briefing; meet-and-greet among participants; overview of the week ahead.

  • Monday

    Theme: Foundations of Advocacy

    Morning | Guided history tour of the Inn
    Introduction to the English Legal System; pre-reading case analysis; advocacy tools and traditional techniques

    Midday | Lunch in The Great Hall

    Afternoon | Breakout groups preparing for the Traditional Advocacy Exercises, taught by practising trainers from the Inns of Court

    Theme: Ethics, AI, Law & Technology

    Morning | AI and the Future Advocate – how technology is reshaping law firms, chambers and courts


    Discussion | Ethical decision-making and responsible use of AI

    Afternoon | Group case analysis using AI tools
    Advocacy exercise integrating AI-assisted preparation

    Theme: Courts & Careers

    Morning | Visit to County / Magistrate’s Court

    Afternoon | Career talk and discussion with a legal practitioner (solicitor, barrister or judge), exploring routes into law and sharing a case analysis

  • Thursday

    Theme: Advocacy Practice & Feedback

    Morning | Visits to the Royal Courts of Justice and the Central Criminal Court (Old Bailey)


    Afternoon | Career talk; case analysis using traditional methods and machine-learning tools; mentoring sessions with barristers


    Assessment Day | 20% weighting towards all internship applicants

    Theme: Assessment & Networking

    Morning | Visits to the Supreme Court and Parliament

    Afternoon | Exit interviews and reflection diaries

    Evening | Ceremony and Networking Reception
